Turn off the main, then call.
A burst pipe is one of the few plumbing problems where the minutes genuinely count. Water damage compounds, and most of the cost of a burst pipe is rarely the pipe.

Turn off the water at the main. Usually at the front boundary near the water meter — a tap you turn clockwise. In an apartment, look for an isolation valve inside the unit, often under the sink or in the laundry
Switchboards, downlights, power points. Treat it as live and say so when you call
Rugs and electricals** out of the water
Your insurer will want it
Knowing where your main shut-off is before you need it is the single most useful five minutes of home maintenance there is. Worth locating this week.

Describe what’s happening and we’ll tell you straight — including when the simple fix is the whole job.
Isolate and stop the water. Containing the damage comes before diagnosing anything
Under a slab, behind a wall, in a garden run — leak detection methods locate it without opening up the property to search
Priced by job, not hour
So the fix is confirmed
Because a pipe that burst through age-related corrosion usually has siblings. You’ll be told plainly if a section is likely to fail again, without being pushed into replacing the lot on the spot
One burst on an old galvanised or corroded copper line is often the first of several. That doesn’t mean the whole house needs repiping — but it does mean it’s worth understanding the condition of the pipework rather than repairing each failure as a surprise.
Voyager will tell you where you actually stand, including when the honest answer is “repair this one and keep an eye on it”.

Usually at the front boundary near the water meter. In a unit, there’s often an isolation valve inside the apartment — under the sink or in the laundry. Find it before you need it.
Call 0485 028 787 and say that. You’ll be talked through it, and a plumber dispatched.
Usually the resulting water damage is covered and the pipe itself may not be, but it depends entirely on your policy and on whether the failure is treated as sudden or as gradual deterioration. Photograph everything before you clean up, and get a written report on what failed and why — Voyager can provide that.
Often a section repair is appropriate. Where the pipe has failed through general corrosion, more failures are likely and a longer replacement may be better value. You’ll get both options and the reasoning, not just the bigger quote.
Voyager runs 24/7 across the North Shore and prioritises active bursts. A realistic arrival time is given on the call.
Not an emergency, but don’t sit on it. Joints that weep tend to progress, and the damage from a slow leak inside a wall is often worse than a burst you noticed immediately.
